Ear lobe glue versus surgical repair video by Dr. Ram Prabhu.
Why glue cannot reliably repair many torn or stretched ear lobes, and how a plastic surgeon plans a durable repair.

Glue may seem like a quick solution for a torn or stretched ear lobe, but it does not rebuild the missing or weakened tissue in many cases.

Why glue often fails

Large piercing holes and split lobes are under repeated tension from earrings and daily movement. Adhesive may temporarily hold skin edges together, but it does not create a stable repair for a stretched defect.

How surgical repair works

Ear lobe repair is usually a minor procedure under local anaesthesia. The surgeon refreshes the damaged edges and reconstructs the lobe shape with fine sutures. The scar is planned to be discreet.

Aftercare

The repaired lobe needs time to heal before repiercing. Your surgeon will advise when it is safe and where a new piercing can be placed.
