What Is Lipoma Removal?
A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of fatty tissue that forms a soft, movable lump just under the skin. They are very common — up to 1 in 100 adults has at least one. Most lipomas are harmless, but they can cause cosmetic concerns, discomfort if pressed, or rarely interfere with movement when located near joints or nerves.
Lipomas do NOT shrink with medication, weight loss, or topical treatments. The only effective treatment is surgical excision — removing the entire fatty mass through a small incision. Done correctly by a plastic surgeon, the procedure is quick (usually 20-45 minutes), uses local anaesthesia for most cases, and leaves a minimal scar.

What Happens on the Day of Lipoma Removal
